About

TopStarred collects the apps you can actually install and use from the most-starred open source projects on GitHub.

How we pick tools

  1. We pull every repository with more than 10,000 stars from the GitHub API (5,736 repositories).
  2. We drop forks, archived projects, repositories without a description and anything not updated in a year.
  3. We remove libraries, frameworks, programming languages, lists, books and tutorials. What is left are desktop, web, mobile, command line and self-hosted apps (1,770 tools).
  4. Each tool gets a category, platforms, the paid products it replaces and a short description in Turkish and English.
  5. Star counts and last update dates are refreshed from GitHub every day.

Who made this?

TopStarred is designed and built by Velaris Dijital, a digital agency based in Alanya, Türkiye. All data comes from the public GitHub API; logos and project names belong to their owners.
